Chris Rock Drops Hit With Eminem?!

Chris Rock has been in the studio with Eminem, who is getting ready to release a comeback album this year. Although he’s not saying too much, Rock might be on some tracks collaborating with the rapper. When asked by Fuse TV, Rock replied “Uh, I can’t really say… Hey, hey, I was on the Kanye [West] record; maybe I’m on the Eminem record. You never know.” The comedian was featured on the track “Blame Game” when referring to the Kanye album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2011).

JB Smoove to Host Black Film Fest

JB Smoove is all over Hollywood and the entertainment industry these days… and we’re loving it! The actor and comedian’s next venture is to host the Comedy Wings Competition during the American Black Film Festival this year in Miami, Florida. The competition is scheduled to take place in Miami, June 22nd. HBO is the host of the showcase, which is designed to give a chance to hardworking and undiscovered comics. Comics are given a chance to entertain the audience and a panel of “all-star” judges. Judges include Anthony Anderson, Affion Crockett and more. Kevin Hart And His Husbands Reunite

Comedian Kevin Hart and his posse of Hollywood Husbands including JB Smoove will reunite on a BET special, Tuesday May 28 10P/9C for the premier of Real Husbands of Hollywood: The Reunion Special.  As stated in the press release via BET:

“Tensions are high as the entire cast reunites in the middle of filming season 2 to discuss the fun, the fights and craziness surrounding the inaugural season of “the fakest reality show on television.” Hosted by Lala Anthony, Real Husbands of Hollywood: The Reunion Special sees Kevin, Nick, JB, Duane, Boris and Nelly squashing old beefs . . . and hilariously creating new ones.
Despite their many issues, the cast can all agree on thing for certain – Kevin is the root of it all.  Recently departed cast member Robin Thicke adds to the mix by returning to set the record straight on his relationship with Kevin after abruptly exiting the series last month and original husband Bobby Brown makes an explosive cameo appearance that is sure to turn heads.”

Steve Harvey To Become A Star!

Steve Harvey’s star legacy will be honored and (and set in stone- literally) on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Friday, May 13.  The city’s Chamber of Commerce announced Harvey will be “feted by fellow comedian Ellen DeGeneres and self-help guru Dr. Phil McGraw at the ceremony”, says BET. Harvey will become a part of Hollywood history as the  2,497th person to receive the honor.  Congrats to the actor, comedian, writer, host- jack-of-all-trades!

Jamie Foxx Lands Annie Roll

Jamie Foxx is all work right now. Add the remake of classic movie Annie onto his “to do list”. The Hollywood Reporter has released news that Foxx is in negotiation will star as “Benjamin Stacks”, “a variation of the Daddy Warbucks personage”. Will Smith and Jay-Z are producing the Sony film.Foxx will play along side Quvenzhane Wallis (as Annie). This summer Jamie Foxx will be in White House Down, and next summer- The Amazing Spider Man-2.

George Wilborn Makes Moves

George Wilborn is now the newest member of The Doug Banks Show replacing the popular co-host Rudy Rush. Due to contract differences with the Michael Baisden Show and Cumulus Media Newtwrok, the show was on a hiatus for a few weeks- now canceled. Wilborn wasted no time and moved on to long time friend- Doug Bank’s show.  Twitter fans and follows have been buzzing about the abrupt change. Mike Epps & Katt Williams Blazin’ Trails?

Mike Epps and Katt Williams are reportedly gearing up to star in an action comedy together. The produces are said to be “shopping around” for a production team, so don’t get your hopes up just yet. Deadline reported that the indie film will be a Blazin’ Saddles style comedy film entitled Blazin’ Four-  Epps will play Noah, “a rather lowlife preacher who takes the job on in the hopes of finding redemption”. Williams will play El Loco, “the menacing leader of the Mexican bandits”. “Found as a baby on a Mexican family’s doorstep, El Loco has no idea he is black — and none of his bandits has the nerve to tell him”.

Kevin Hart “Riding Along” with Ice Cube

Kevin Hart will co-star along side actor/rapper Ice Cube in the upcoming comedy flick titled Ride Along. Gary Owen and Jay Pharoah will also be cast in the movie which is said to start production this week.  Ice Cube is set to play a tough cop who takes his sister’s “future security guard husband (Kevin Hart) on a 24-hour ride-along which the cop hopes will scare the guy out of marrying his sister” -Deadline.  Funny part is, it’s being reported that the writers are so confident this comedy flick will be a hit, that they are already talking about a sequel. The film is said to be in theaters January 2014. Stay tuned for more details on the movie and comedic cast.

D.L. On To Better Things on the Small Screen

D.L. Hughley may not have made it through ABC’s Dancing With The Stars reality show, but he’s not mad. D.L. is on to bigger and better things. Deadline.com has just released that he will be joining Michael Ian Black to host the TBS original series Trust Me, I’m A Game Show Host. ” ‘This is a game show where a host is legitimately trying to convince a contestant to choose the wrong answer’, said Burnett.” Burnett also commented saying that Michael and Hughley’s comedic styles are a perfect match for pulling this off.

Each host will present a single contestant with “a bizarre and seemingly implausible fact”, (one being true and one being false)- the contestant must then choose the true fact proceed in the game. The players who prove themselves to see past the lies of the hosts will go home with a cash prize.

Hughley has hosted his own late-night talk shows for CNN and Comedy Central.

Tracy Morgan To Host The Billboard Awards

Billboard has announced that comedic actor,Tracy Morgan, “whose eight seasons on “Saturday Night Live” and seven on 30 Rock solidified him as one TV’s funniest stars, will host the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, live from Las Vegas at the MGM Grand on Sunday, May 19, airing on ABC”.

Jamie Foxx Rises Above Despite Trayvon Controversy

What was suppose to be a special night for Jamie Foxx, who was honored at the MTV Movie Awards for his excellence in the film industry (this past Sunday, April 14, 2013), ended up being blasted on social media. EurWeb described the tweets as coming from the “less enlightened, disgusting racists of America”. Foxx wore a black tee with Trayvon Martin’s face surrounded by college of other victims of with “Know Justice, Know Peace” written on the shirt. Haters took to social media as soon as the actor/comedian hit the stage with harsh words and “deplorable” comments. Despite the ignorant feedback, Jamie seemed to have a great night and left with the MTV Generation Award.

On a lighter note, Foxx has recently been cast to play electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Stay tuned for  more on the actor/comedian.

Marlon Wayans “Low Blows” Kevin Hart

TMZ caught up with Marlon Wayans and got him to speak his mind on the recent Kevin Hart DUI arrest, and being left out of Scary Movie 5, a franchise he was associated with from the beginning. He also spoke about his new franchise project, Haunted House, which hit theaters- and plans to be the new wave a spoof movies. Wayans leaves next to nothing unsaid and lets all his feelings go in the video. Was he drunk too, or just full of opinions?! D.L. Is Done… with DWTS

On the Tuesday, April 16, 2013, episode of Dancing With The Stars, D.L. Hughley and his partner Cheryl were let go from the competition. Tied for  lowest score with fellow comic, Andy Dick, D.L. joked and stated that he was “playing with house money” getting that far in the show. EurWeb.com reported on the finale of D.L.: He thanked his fans, Team DL, as well as Cheryl’s fans. E! News reported on the dismissal and D.L.”s reaction: ”Cheryl Burke is my little Asian daughter that I”ve adopted.” “We”ve become so close.” “Hughley says he’s now rooting for Andy Dick ’just because I want to say Team Dick on television’.” – E! Chris Tucker To Host the BET Awards

BET has a legacy for keeping their awards as entertaining as possible. Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, MoNique, Will Smith, Damon Wayans, D. L. Hughley, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, and Kevin Hart are all comedy names that have hosted the annual network event. This week, the network announced that actor / comedian Chris Tucker is set to host the 2013 awards on Sunday, June 30, 2013. The event will be in Los Angeles, California at the Nokia Theatre.  Tucker, whos newest role film Silver Linings Playbook is now out in theaters, is knowing for being the highest paid actor in Hollywood during his role in the Rush Hour film series.

“We cannot wait for Chris to set fire to the BET Awards stage with his unique brand of mayhem,” said Stephen Hill, President of Music Programming and Specials.  “We’ve been chasing him for years and we couldn’t be happier that he is hosting the show in this special year: the year we embark on the three–day long BET Experience.”

“I am honored to be asked to host this year’s BET Awards.  I’m looking forward to being part of a really great show,” says Chris Tucker.

A Not So Funny DUI

TMZ reported from an on the fly interview with Kevin Hart regarding his DUI arrest over the weekend. Hart was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Sunday.  In the quick interview, Hart was honest and did admit to drinking before getting behind the wheel and heading onto the LA freeway. The cops on the scene allege he was over the speed limit, nearly hit a gas tanker on the freeway and then resisted arrest. Hart denied all of those comments. Hart said he just wanted to remove his watch before they handcuffed him, which they considered resisting arrest. He took to Twitter to let his fans know this was a big wake up for him. This Real Husband of Hollywood better get it together before Epps has a one up on him!

Cedric The Entertainer HEATS Up

Sources are reporting that filming is underway for the 1980′s remake of the action thriller Heat, (based on a William Goldman novel).  Filming is currently taking place in New Orleans and will soon move to Las Vegas where Cedric The Entertainer joins Jason Statham, a gambeling addict and ex-mercenary working for hire in Sin City. Was it too good to be true?! Although there were reports and an interview from Hip Hollywood (which we reported yesterday), that Chris Rock would be replacing Robin Thicke on the second season of Real Husbands of Hollywood- it may NOT true! The news seemed too good to be true since Chris Rock is not a frequenter to the small screen.  The “confirmed” news from Hip Hollywood is now up in the air as accusations are being made that the interview never actually confirmed, but just spoke about the guys working together and the fun energy on set. Kevin Hart- Make It Or Fake It!?

With the BIG news of Chris Rock being added into the second season script of the Real Husbands of Hollywood (after the sudden leaving of Robin Thicke)… and the anticipation of a higher level of funny that the show can bring, lets take a look back at the vision and comparison of the show from the beginning. In an on set interview with EURWeb back in February, Hart chatted it up making a very large comparison with his RHOH show. Dubbed the fakest reality show ever… Hart compared the greatness of the show for BET to the success of what The Chappelle Show did for the Comedy Central Network. ”The levels of funny that will be reached on this show are endless” said Hart.
